Dear AIS Community,
I couldn’t be more proud to announce that American International School has been recertified as an Apple Distinguished School from 2027-2030!

Apple is clear that schools that earn this distinction offer specialized learning experiences that are unique, engaging, and impactful:
“We believe Apple Distinguished Schools are some of the most innovative schools in the world. They’re centers of leadership and educational excellence that demonstrate our vision of exemplary learning environments. They use Apple products to inspire students to lead, learn, and thrive in our dynamic world. They empower learners to imagine and discover new possibilities and solutions. And they commit to driving impact and leaving the world better than they found it.”
Innovation isn’t just about the technology we put in students’ hands; it’s about the future we put within their reach.
Having been an Apple Distinguished School for the last three years, I can attest to the innovation and creativity that’s driving instruction across our campus. I am grateful to the faculty and staff who make this distinction possible and who provide the learning conditions needed to meet these demanding standards. Be sure to view the video below for a glimpse into the many ways that AIS has demonstrated the characteristics and qualities of learning found in Apple Distinguished School communities worldwide. With only 1200+ schools in 43 countries officially recognized by Apple, AIS stands out as a global leader in creativity and innovation.
As you might imagine, achievements such as these are only possible with the help of many, and I would like to thank the following individuals for their outstanding contributions:

Apple Divisional Coordinator & Learning Coach, Elementary School

Apple Divisional Coordinator & Learning Coach, Middle School

Apple Divisional Coordinator & Learning Coach, High School

Apple Learning Coach & Director of Learning Innovation

Apple Learning Coach & High School Mathematics and Computer Science Team Lead

Apple Learning Coach & Elementary School Principal

Apple Distinguished School Lead, Apple Leadership Academy Ambassador, Apple Learning Coach, and AIS Learning Activator
I would like to take a moment to specially acknowledge our Learning Activator, Mr. Jeremy Green. As the long list of Apple certifications he has attained demonstrates, we could not have achieved this recognition without his leadership and expertise. He has nurtured the program from its infancy, continuously fostered commitment amongst us all, and tirelessly boosted engagement in the use of Apple tools and technologies throughout our school’s journey to achieving our initial Apple Distinguished School status and our current recertification. We are truly grateful for his commitment and the enthusiasm he brings to leveraging technology across our school.
I also want to thank our incredible teachers for their passion, risk-taking, curiosity, and willingness to try new things alongside their students. There is no question that our faculty models the open to learning approach that we collectively strive to instill in the students we serve and that is needed to achieve milestones such as these.
Our award-winning TECHsperts continue to champion creativity and innovation, working alongside faculty to explore new approaches to teaching and learning, helping to develop the bespoke AIS Creativity Scope and Sequence, and collectively promoting the development of Creative Confidence across campus.
As Chief Operations Officer, Ms. Luanna Liang, deserves recognition for saying yes to the suggestion that we work towards this challenging goal over 3 years ago, and our IT Team, led by Mr. Pablo Viedma, Director of Information Technology, Mr. Anson Wong, Information Technology Manager, and Mr. Eunsup Kang, our school-wide EdTech Lead equally deserve our heartfelt thanks and recognition for their support. And of course I wish to thank the Leadership Team for their dedication to educational excellence.
Finally, nothing significant happens without everyone contributing to a greater shared effort, and my final word of thanks goes to the AIS community for the collective support our families provide for the school’s programs, pathways, and direction. As Apple says, the work we are doing together has led to our “exemplary learning environment” that is being recognized today.
Congratulations, to everyone who has made this possible! ❤
️My best,
Anita Simpson
Head of School
