The GBA School Awards celebrate excellence in education, and on 12 March 2026 at the prestigious Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong, the American International School of Hong Kong (AIS) was recognized with the highest honors for student leadership. AIS proudly received both the Overall Best Student Leadership Program for 2026 and the Public Choice Award for Student Leadership, marking a significant achievement for the school community.
The Student Leadership Award recognizes schools that demonstrate an authentic, impactful, and sustainable approach to developing student leaders. AIS earned this distinction through its commitment to empowering students with meaningful leadership opportunities. AIS’s application featured its core student leadership bodies: House Captains, Student Council, Athletic Council, and the award-winning TECHsperts (GBA Student Agency winner, 2025).
In a highly competitive field, AIS secured the top position among outstanding finalists, including Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School, Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School, Shekou International School, Victoria Shanghai Academy, and West Island School. This recognition highlights AIS’s leadership program as a model of excellence across the Greater Bay Area.
Further underscoring the strength of the program, AIS also captured the Public Choice Award, supported by an impressive 2,237 votes from the wider community. This strong public endorsement reflects the impact and visibility of student leadership at AIS.
