At AIS, we’ve always known that G6 Lyu Mingze (Luca) and G4 Lyu Mingqian (Harry) possessed extraordinary talent. Many of us remember their powerful, disciplined performance during our Lunar New Year Assembly, where they shared their passion for martial arts with the entire school community.
We are beyond proud to announce that these two brothers have taken that same spirit to the global stage, achieving historic results at the 10th World Traditional Martial Arts Championships (the “World Kungfu Championships”) in Emeishan, China. This global event brought together over 5,000 elite athletes from 54 countries, making their achievements even more remarkable.
Luca delivered a stunning performance, capturing a gold medal in boxing and a bronze medal in swordsmanship! His dedication and skill in both disciplines are truly commendable, and we are incredibly proud of his accomplishment as a World Champion.
Harry also showcased his impressive talent, securing a silver medal in swordsmanship and a bronze medal in boxing. His performance was truly inspiring, and his dedication to the sport is evident.
The moment they stepped onto the podium to receive their medals, presented by the leaders of the World Wushu Federation, was a truly special occasion. Their clasped fists and handshakes symbolised the sportsmanship and respect that underpin the spirit of martial arts.
Beyond their individual triumphs, Luca and Harry are committed to promoting the martial arts culture. Their motto, “Wu Dong World” (武動世界), reflects their passion for sharing this rich heritage. We are confident that they will continue to inspire others and make a positive impact on the world of martial arts.
