On Wednesday, May 27, the American International School welcomed the Stamford American School Robotics Program for a VEX GO robotics tournament, the All-American Finale, celebrating a year of growth, learning, and achievement for our young engineers.
Led by Ms. Janet and Mr. Green, the event brought together 17 teams and more than 50 elementary engineers from Grades 2–4 to compete in the VEX GO game Village Engineering Construction. Throughout the day, students participated in two exciting events: the Driving Skills Challenge and the Teamwork Challenge.
In the Driving Skills Challenge, teams competed independently, controlling their robots to score as many points as possible within a two-minute match. In the Teamwork Challenge, teams were paired into random alliances and worked collaboratively to score as many points as possible in a one-minute match.
Each team completed three Driving Skills attempts and participated in eight rounds of Teamwork Challenge matches. Following the qualification rounds, the top eight teams advanced to the playoff finals.
The competition showcased the impressive talent, creativity, and problem-solving abilities of both robotics programs. We are especially proud of the outstanding performance of our Eagle Engineers.

A special congratulations goes to Eagles 13—Grade 4 students Rex, Eason, and Andrew—for capturing the Driving Skills Championship. We also congratulate Eagles 14—Grade 4 students Oliver, Carson, and Yohann—for earning the Teamwork Challenge Championship.
In addition, congratulations to Eagles 6—Grade 3 students Harvey H., Harvey I., and Aidan—and Eagles 9—Grade 3 students Jeryl, Giulia, and Mac—for their outstanding performance in earning the Teamwork Challenge Silver Medal.
The event was filled with exciting moments, including dramatic playoff rounds, close finishes, and tremendous displays of sportsmanship and collaboration between our two leading engineering programs. It was a fitting celebration of a successful robotics season and a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the growing partnership between AIS and SAS.
We are incredibly proud of all of our Elementary Eagle Engineers and wish them the very best as they travel to Guangzhou next week to represent AIS at the regional robotics tournament.
