AIS Eagles 2025–26 ★ Season 3: Challenges and Perserverence

Congratulations to a solid season 3 for this 2025-2026 season! Our Badminton, Track and Field, and Football teams practiced hard and competed even harder!

Badminton

The U14 Boys Badminton team had a solid season and successfully advanced to the playoffs. Several new players joined the squad and adapted quickly, contributing well to the team’s overall performance. They put up a strong fight in the semifinals but lost to SIS. In the bronze medal match, the boys battled hard but were defeated 2-4. Despite not winning a medal, the team showed great improvement and fighting spirit throughout the competition. A big thank you to Ms. Poelker for her coaching and support this season.

The U14 Girls Badminton team had a strong season, showing great improvement and teamwork throughout. They advanced confidently to the playoffs and fought hard to claim a well-deserved silver medal. Their doubles play stood out especially, with much better coordination, quicker reactions, and smarter strategies. Players supported each other on and off the court, staying positive even in tough matches. Singles were also solid, with several girls stepping up under pressure. Congratulations to the team and Mr. Martin for an exciting year and that proud silver-medal finish.

The U20 Boys Badminton team faced a tough and challenging season this year, going up against many bigger and more experienced schools. Despite the strong competition, the boys showed great determination and fought hard in every match, giving their absolute best effort on the court. Although they did not advance to the playoffs, their resilience and never-give-up attitude were clear throughout the season. Several Grade 11 players gained valuable experience and are now well-prepared to lead the team next year. With their improved skills and stronger mindset, the team is poised to bounce back even stronger in the upcoming season. Well done to all the players and Mr.Jacky for their hard work and fighting spirit.

The U20 Girls Badminton team had a strong and successful season, making it to the playoffs once again. They worked extremely hard throughout the year, focusing heavily on doubles play which greatly improved their teamwork and performance. In the playoff semifinals, they faced a tough opponent in ICHK and fought hard but lost 2-4. The team ultimately finished in 4th place overall in the playoffs. Despite the disappointment, their consistent effort and determination were evident all season. We look forward to pushing for a top 3 finish next year. A big thank you to Mr. Kang for his excellent coaching and dedication to the team!

Track & field

The Junior & Senior Track & Field team had a bigger and very enthusiastic junior group who were excited to compete and showcase their talents. In the senior championship on March 25th, although the senior numbers were smaller, the team still made us proud with excellent results: Maria Nguyen (Gr 10) won bronze in U16 Discus, Natalie Ip (Gr 10) took bronze in U16 100m and silver in U16 200m, and Alexis Yip (Gr 11) secured silver in U20 Discus.

On March 26th at the AIS Championship, the juniors had an outstanding day and brought home several medals. Jasmine Ng won gold in both the U14 High Jump and Long Jump, while the U12 boys 4x400m relay team earned silver with strong performances from Jimmy Leung, Alexander Evans, Shinji Fujino, and Aiden Lai. We look forward to recruiting more senior runners next year so the team can grow even stronger and chase more medals. Thank you to Ms. Abejero, Ms. Nielke & Ms. Lee.

Football

The U20 Girls Football team switched to an exciting 7-a-side format this season, which brought fresh energy and new challenges to their play. The girls fought hard in every match, showing great team spirit despite losing a few games and drawing in others. They pushed to get in the 4th place to qualify for the playoffs, coming close in a crucial tie against HKA that ultimately kept them from advancing. Even without reaching the playoffs, their determination, teamwork, and never-give-up attitude shone through consistently. Well done to the entire team and Ms. Staller for a season full of effort and growth. We are looking forward to even stronger performances next year!

This year is a challenging season for the U20 Boys Football team, as they faced several strong and competitive opponents. The boys showed real promise by taking the lead in a couple of matches and fighting hard throughout, even scoring some impressive goals along the way. Unfortunately, they were unable to hold onto those leads and ended up losing a few close games toward the end. Despite not advancing to the playoffs, the team demonstrated great resilience, teamwork, and determination in every match. Most importantly, all the boys truly enjoyed playing together, building strong friendships and positive experiences on the pitch. Well done to the entire squad and Mr. Jose for their effort and spirit this season.

We would like to say a big thank you to all our coaches for their hard work this season. You spent many hours training our students and helping them improve their skills.
