A truly prestigious honor has been bestowed upon Yoshimi Ito by the College Board. Her Advanced Placement (AP) Art portfolio has been recognized as being among the top five in the world out of nearly 20,000 global submissions.
This remarkable achievement highlights the world-class caliber of the arts program here at the American International School and marks a historic moment for our graduating seniors.
Yoshimi’s work was so exceptional that it was selected for the official Advanced Placement (AP) Art promotional poster, which is distributed to schools worldwide.
In recognition of this success, Yoshimi and AIS Art Teacher, Mr. Martin Kane, were awarded flights to the United States to attend a special exhibition in New York City. This gallery event showcased the work of the top 20 AP Art students globally. Notably, the American International School was the only school from outside the United States to receive this invitation.
During the exhibition, the College Board coordinator summarized the talent on display with a quote that perfectly captures Yoshimi’s dedication:
So, very simply stated, the work of the students here today represents the best of the best.
