This year, Little Steps Asia specifically recognized schools that focus on families and deliver truly meaningful educational experiences for children.

At American International School, creativity is a core component of our Future Framework. Our K–12 Creativity Scope & Sequence builds Creative Confidence—the ability to generate and realize new ideas—through a vertically aligned framework spanning Coding, Digital Music, Digital Art, Video Production, and Digital Presentation.
Students progress from simple storytelling to advanced multimedia, coding, and design, applying creativity across all subject areas. Teachers integrate creative projects into rigorous academics, expanding authentic demonstrations of learning. Supported by instructional coaching, Apple Learning Coaches, and our TECHsperts student leaders, creativity shapes pedagogy, technology integration, and student agency—preparing students as innovative communicators and creators.
The link between wellbeing and belonging is well-established in research literature, and fostering a culture of belonging is essential to establishing a safe and inclusive classroom where learning can flourish.
Knowing this, AIS teachers developed a bespoke deck of Belonging Cards designed to intentionally promote a sense of belonging and wellbeing. The cards are color coded into five (5) distinct purpose-aligned categories: Collaborating, Reflecting, Sharing, Creating, and Kindness. They are full of ideas and activities that all educators can use to enhance a culture of belonging and, ultimately, wellbeing. Our Belonging Cards and wellbeing activities are consistently used across the school in classes and meetings, where they successfully foster connection, care, and community.
Our comprehensive American curriculum delivers a highly effective balance of academic rigor and flexible pathways, ensuring every student enrolled can reach their full potential. With an extensive selection of Advanced Placement courses as well as diverse American Common Core structured non-AP options, students can tailor their educational journey to match their unique strengths and interests. This strategic approach develops critical thinking, creativity, and global perspectives, and, above all, confidence while allowing students to grow and adapt to their own developing interests from Early Childhood to Grade 12. Our graduates consistently gain admission to top-tier universities around the world, equipped with both the knowledge and dispositions needed for success in an interconnected and ever-changing world.
