Working at AIS

We are proud to have a talented and dedicated international faculty, fully committed to delivering a high-quality educational experience for every student.

PROFESSIONAL

Our teachers are passionate educators, excited in their professional pursuit of exceptional teaching and learning. They continuously seek ways to create a dynamic learning environment where the joy of learning, achievement, and success is evident and celebrated. AIS benefits from a range of teaching styles and approaches that are progressive, student-centered, and reflective of international best practice.

COLLABORATIVE

Our teachers are collegial, supportive, and eager to share. We expect our teachers to be life-long learners eager to embrace opportunities for ongoing professional development and training. Technology in particular, is a central component of our educational program at AIS. All teachers are required to be highly effective in their use of technology.

DEDICATED

Beyond the classroom, teachers at AIS willingly devote their time and energy to a variety of roles and responsibilities expected in a high-quality school. Continuously looking for ways to help students achieve their potential, teachers play important roles in extracurricular activities, such as coaching varsity sports teams and chaperoning school trips.

CONNECTED

AIS is proud of its reputation for being a warm, friendly, and family-orientated school. As teachers, we believe in building positive relationships with our parents and value the strong sense of partnership that exists between home and school.

American International School is committed to the safety and protection of children. All faculty and staff are expected to comply with our child safeguarding expectations.

AIS is committed to ensuring that all individuals who are employed by AIS and whose duties include direct contact with children are required to undergo background screening prior to direct contact with children. To ensure all current and potential employees are safe to work with children, AIS follows the following procedures:

● Advertisements for vacancies clearly state that safeguarding policies and procedures are enforced at AIS and that background screenings are required as part of the recruitment process.
● Criminal background checks for newly hired employees that cover, at a minimum, the last five years of employment.
● A minimum of two professional references shall be required, at least one of which will be a verbal reference check.
● All AIS employees must annually review, sign, and adhere to the AIS Adult and Student Boundaries: Code of Conduct.
