What a season! This year goes down as the most successful in the history of the American International School volleyball program. Our A Grade Girls team, magnificently led by Captain Samantha Chu, stormed to victory in both the ISSFHK Championships and League.
In an incredible display of skill and teamwork, the girls finished the season completely unbeaten in both tournaments.
Mr. Martin Kane shared his pride in the team’s accomplishment, noting that this was his most enjoyable season to date. He offered a special “thank you” to the individual players who made the year so memorable:
- Samantha Chu for her magnificent leadership.
- Wendy Leung for sharing the Coach’s sense of humor.
- Sharon Luk for her dedication (and her bruised knees!).
- Stephanie Tin for her constant smile.
- Tina Jeong for always being there when it counted.
- Yin-Lam Cheung Casado for her awesome power on the court.
- Shi Yi Ng for her endless enthusiasm.
- Harumi Obayashifor an excellent attitude.
- Verna Lam, Marina Tsurugai, and Maya Akimoto for their vital support and spirit.
- Brittany Wong and Kelvin Ho, our two fantastic team managers.
The season’s success was further highlighted by individual accolades. Huge congratulations to Samantha, Tina, and Sharon, who were all named to the All-Tournament Team.
A special shout-out goes to Yin-Lam, who was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) for her dominant performance throughout the year.
Congratulations to the entire team on a perfect season. You have truly set the bar for AIS athletics!
