10 May Family and Student Updates

Dear Parents and Students,

Happy Mother’s Day!

Mother’s Day is this Sunday, and I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all of the incredible mothers in our school community. For those who celebrate, may your Mother’s Day be filled with love, joy, and precious moments.

Thank You PTA!

My heartfelt thanks to the PTA for organizing our recent Movie Night, featuring Fire Heart on 12 April. Our students and parents thoroughly enjoyed the movie. We also appreciate the PTA’s generous sponsorship of the Mister Softee ice cream trucks on 29 April, which brought so much joy to our students. We are also grateful to the PTA for sponsoring the generous gift vouchers and delicious lunches for Teacher Appreciation Week this week.

Your efforts in creating memorable experiences for our school community are truly commendable. Thank you, PTA!

Please stay tuned for PTA Elections next week!

Elementary School Playground Dedication Ceremony

All parents are cordially invited to attend the Elementary School Playground Dedication Ceremony on Wednesday, 22 May at 3:30 pm.

The ceremony will begin at the new playground in front of the Elementary School Building. After the dedication ceremony, cake will be served, and the regularly-scheduled PTA General Meeting will begin in the Conference Room at approximately 3:45 pm.

We wish to thank our current and past presidents for their generous contributions of HK$300,000.00 over several years, which have collectively helped to purchase the new playground structure.

We also wish to thank an AIS alumnus for his generous donation of HK$200,000.00 from WEN, Xiao Feng (Eric), the class of 2014 at AIS, which has also gone towards the new Elementary Playground.

We hope you will be able to join us for the celebration!

Art Show

All parents are cordially invited to the opening of our Whole School Art Show, Visual Cocktail 2024, on Tuesday, 21 May from 3:15 – 6:00 pm.

The exhibit will be on display in the 123 Hall from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm and run until the end of the day on Thursday, 23 May.

The Whole School Arts Show features artwork from across all divisions from Grade 1 Junior to Grade 12.

We are proud to celebrate student achievement in Visual Arts and hope you will join us for the opening or at some point throughout the exhibit.

I wish to thank our fabulous art teachers Ms. Lynsey Reeves (High School Art and Head of the Visual and Performing Arts), Ms. Mae Lee Gibson (Middle School Art) and Ms. Melody Meyers (Elementary School Art) for the work they do to nurture our students’ artistic development and creative competence.

You don’t want to miss it!

Panorama Surveys

Please be sure to complete the Spring Community Feedback Survey that has been sent directly to your AIS email account from Panorama Education. The feedback we receive from the survey helps guide the direction and focus for the school. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes or less to complete. We know how busy everyone is, and we sincerely appreciate the valuable feedback that we know you will provide. Surveys are open until Friday, 17 May at 5:00 pm.

It is a busy time of year, and, on behalf of our faculty and staff, I want to express our collective appreciation for your ongoing support of our school and the many school functions that are quickly approaching.

Have a lovely weekend ahead.

My best,

Anita Simpson
Head of School
