8 March Family and Student Update

Dear Parents and Students,

This week, AIS hosted visitors from Australia who came to our school to learn more about our Apple Distinguished School (ADS) journey, as they prepare their school community to apply for recognition as well. It was a pleasure hearing from our wonderful student TECHSPERT ambassadors who confidently shared the many ways that they have been involved in the process. We are very proud of the work that our teachers and students are doing to foster creative confidence, and our guests were genuinely impressed with the range of technological tools and applications they witnessed students and faculty using during their visit. They were equally impressed by everyone’s genuine enthusiasm!

Ramadan Kareem!

On behalf of the AIS Leadership Team and Administration, we wish to extend our warmest wishes to all of our students, faculty, friends, and families who will be celebrating Ramadan from Monday, 11 March – Tuesday, 9 April.

In order to best support our students, we ask that families kindly let their Divisional Principals know if their children are fasting for Ramadan. Sharing this important information with us will ensure that students have what they need to be successful at school and allow us to modify the activities that students participate in, as needed. Please be sure to contact your Divisional Principal.

For those celebrating, may the holiday ahead be filled with family, community, and peace.

PTA Bake Sale & Charitable Free Dress Day – 15 March

On Friday, 15 March, the PTA will host its first bake sale since 2019 from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm or while supplies last. All baked goods will be purchased by the PTA from iBakery, a social enterprise that supports people with special needs. All proceeds from the sale will go directly to Home of Loving Faithfulness (HOLF), as Friday, 15 March is also a Charitable Free Dress Day for them. This is a full-circle charity event and a definite WIN-WIN!! Thanks to our amazing PTA for thinking of such a creative approach to supporting two (2) charities at the same time and giving back to the community in such a meaningful way.

Baked goods will be sold for $HK20.00 and $HK25.00, depending on the item, so be sure to send additional money if you’d like your children to participate in the bake sale!

Reenrollment 2024-2025

Families should have received a reenrollment email message yesterday, Thursday, 7 March with instructions on how to reenroll your student(s) for the 2024-2025 school year. There are currently waiting lists in several grades, so I strongly encourage all families to complete the reenrollment process in advance of the 31 March deadline to avoid disappointment. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have. Our friendly office and admissions staff, as well as your Divisional Principals, are always happy to help.

Summer Uniform

Monday, 11 March marks the start of Trimester 3 and the shift to our summer uniform. Parents are asked to ensure that their student(s) come to school in their summer uniform that day. If you need to place an order, please follow the link on this page of our website.

Elementary Sports Day

Just a reminder that our Elementary School Sports Day will take place on Wednesday 13 March at Kowloon Tsai Park. Parents are welcome to attend and join in the fun. The day will be filled with engaging activities for our youngest learners and promises to be enjoyable for everyone!

Enjoy the weekend.

My best,

Anita Simpson
