11.10 Family and Student Update
Dear Parents and Students,
As we bring another very productive week and Semester 1 to a close, I want to take a moment to wish our High School and Middle School students all the very best as they head out on their Outdoor Education Leadership Programs (OELP).
There are so many incredible trips planned this year, and I am confident our students will learn a great deal and develop their global citizenship skills, among many others, during this applied learning opportunity. It really is wonderful to be able to offer a full range of experiential opportunities to our students once again, and I look forward to hearing about their many adventures when they return to campus on 21 November. Please join me in offering sincere thanks to our wonderful faculty who make these learning experiences such an important part of school life at AIS.
On behalf of the Leadership Team, we wish all of our AIS families, students, faculty, and staff who are celebrating Diwali this weekend on Sunday, 12 November, a wonderful holiday filled with light, love, laughter, family, and friends!
My thanks go out to all of the families who have already supported our Wonderful Winter Fair through their generous donations of Grand Prize Raffle Draw prizes, turkeys, and much, much more. We are grateful to each of you who have contributed such wonderful gifts. I am excited for our future prize winners. Please keep those donations coming!
I know many of you are looking forward to seeing our students perform the songs they have been learning and practicing for the Winter Fair. To help with your planning, I am sharing the performance program with you today. I know you will be as impressed as I am by the musical talents our students have. Thanks to our wonderful music teachers, Mr. Piner, Mr. McLean, and Ms. Lee for bringing out the very best in every student. Special thanks to Ms. Lynsey Reeves, our Visual and Performing Arts Lead for creating this lovely program.
Parents and students are reminded that Monday, 13 November, marks the start of our switch to Winter Uniforms. My thanks to the many parents who have already purchased and prepared uniforms for their students. As the weather cools even more, having warmer clothing will definitely be appreciated. Please don’t forget that AIS sweaters are needed for school photos which take place at the end of January (more information to follow), so be sure to have yours ready for that time.
As usual, we have a plethora of activities and events planned for everyone. Make sure to note these significant dates in your calendars to make certain you don’t miss a thing. This is a busy time of year!
Enjoy your weekend, everyone.
