10.13 Family and Student Update

Dear Parents and Students,

I hope you have all had a good week and are ready for the weekend ahead. It has been a busy time at AIS, between MAP assessments in Elementary, the Middle School House Challenge and the much anticipated College Prep Day in High School! In addition to all of the wonderful learning activities, it has been so nice to see students and staff enjoying the cooler weather and all it brings.

Parents Make The Difference

The October issues of Parents Make the Difference newsletters are here and ready to use. As always, these resources are wonderful tools to support you with practical parenting strategies and ideas for each age and stage of your student’s learning journey.

The Daily Planners also provide excellent conversation prompts that enhance communication opportunities and deepen relationships. Some ideas are designed to boost knowledge and skills and others to boost Confidence, one of our priorities at AIS! There are also enough conversation starters for every day of the month. Enjoy!

Winter Fair 2023

Yes, it’s time to start thinking about our wonderful Winter Fair that will take place on Friday, 8 December from 3:00 – 7:30 pm. Our PTA is already hard at work planning for the day. Our theme has also been chosen, with the help of our wonderful VPA Team –

The Colors of Winter!

There is still so much to do to be ready for the day. A detailed letter that outlines the many ways you can help and all of the important Winter Fair timelines will be shared with the community on Monday, 16 October, 2023. It will contain all of the details you will need for the fair as well as the many ways you can help to make it a success!

Volunteer Training

We are hosting our next Volunteer Training session on Wednesday, 18 October from 2:00pm – 3:00pm. It will take place on campus in the 123 Hall. By attending this session, parents and guardians will be equipped as volunteers to support the PTA and our school for class activities, field trips, and future events with the AIS community. It will also prepare you for participating in the Winter Fair! If you are interested in volunteering during this school year, it is important to attend this session. Please sign up here to RSVP.

PTA Executive Meeting

Our next PTA Executive Meeting will follow the volunteer training on Wednesday, 18 October from 3:15 – 4:30 pm in the 123 Hall. We look forward to seeing everyone who can attend. If you plan on helping with the Winter Fair, this year, please make sure to be at this meeting.

Enjoy the weekend ahead!

My best,

Anita Simpson
