11.18 Family & Student Update
Dear Parents and Students,
What a fabulous Literacy Week for Elementary and Middle School students we’ve had!! It was absolutely fantastic! There were so many activities that students were engaged in all week long. From guest authors and fun hat days to all day reading chairs, our shared focus on literacy was a joy to witness. My sincere thanks to our outstanding faculty and principals for making that happen.
Techsperts
I could not be more proud of these students who have just completed their Apple Teacher Certification and are officially Apple TEACHERS!! A total of 7 High School and 2 Middle School students have now completed their Apple Teacher training and received their official certificates from Apple. That is extremely impressive and evidence of the powerful learning that is taking place as part of our Apple Learning Plan.
From left to right they are: Ish SINGHAL (Grade 11), Raghav RANJAN (Grade 11), Avery CHEUNG (Grade 11), Ran MEHTA (Grade 11), Harry Kim (Grade 11), Victoria PAN (Grade 10), Taney NG (Grade 6), Ankul SIDANA (Grade 10), and Valeria CHU (Grade 6).
TECHsperts complete both Apple and Google training and receive badges for their completed courses from the companies themselves. As a group, the TECHsperts have now completed 76 badges, carried out several support requests from students and staff, and assisted with the transition to starting school for two new AIS students.
Our TECHsperts will receive physical badges and lanyards that will soon be on display to distinguish them for their achievements and to also make them more recognisable in our community. Two workshops, one for MS and another for HS will be conducted later this month by the TECHsperts!
Winter Fair
Our Winter Fair is only 3 weeks away! Students are practicing their performances, our volunteers are busy planning and shopping for delicious food items for our food stalls, and we are all preparing the games, prize booths and more!
Tickets have gone home today, so be sure to keep an eye out for them. I am sure you will agree that the beautiful artwork makes them even more special. Please be sure that the money for sold tickets, as well as any unsold tickets you may have, are returned according to the instructions provided by Friday, 2 December, 2022. There are many wonderful prizes to be won, as you’ll see below, and it is not too late to contribute! Kindly contact the office if you would like to purchase additional tickets. Remember, all of the funds raised go to enriching the learning experience at AIS.

More Winter Fair – Posters are UP!
Our posters have arrived, and I know you’ll agree that the images chosen for each of the three divisions really showcase the incredible talent of our students. We have them posted around the campus for everyone to enjoy, and you can view them yourself during Winter Fair!
