10.07 Family & Student Update
Dear Parents and Students,
Thank you for sharing your beautiful children with us for another wonderful and eventful week! We have been very busy this last little while with Parent-Teacher Conferences, a holiday, a professional learning day, and World Teacher Day. There is rarely a dull moment at AIS! Although our schedules may change, what doesn’t are the smiles in our students’ eyes.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Thank you to all parents and guardians for attending our Parent Teacher Conferences last week. The relationship between parents and teachers is critical to ongoing student success, and the feedback I have heard from so many of you has been extremely positive. Remember that you do not need to wait for a conference to reach out to your child’s teacher to share important information or ask questions. Ongoing communication is key!
Advanced Placement (AP) Results
I am extremely proud to present our AP data for the 2021-2022 school year. The results are truly exemplary, and they represent the culmination of our faculty’s dedication to our students, to excellence, and to a shared love of learning. It is not by accident that our students consistently achieve to this high degree, and I am genuinely honored to be a part of this outstanding learning community. We offer an extremely robust AP program for a school our size, and we can all be proud.
For families who are unfamiliar with the AP Program, students who earn these specialized AP credits receive priority admission to colleges and universities around the world. They are also granted university and college credits before they even begin their post-secondary programs. That way, they enter university with credits already granted, allowing them the freedom to accelerate their college and university programming. AP is a truly unique opportunity that AIS is proud to offer.

Panorama Surveys
In the coming days, you will receive an email from Ms. Kathy Abel, our Director of Learning Innovation, with a request to complete our annual Panorama Parent Survey. American International School has partnered with Panorama Education for several years to administer research-based, reliable community surveys. The data we receive is invaluable in understanding what we do well and where we can improve. Please keep your eyes out for that important message.
Student Art Work
I am delighted to share these links to some fabulous works of art with you created by some of our High School students. Special thanks to Ms. Lynsey Reeves, our High School Visual Arts Teacher and Head of Visual and Performing Art for sharing them with us. Our students are truly talented, and it is so gratifying to see their ongoing growth and development under our faculty’s exceptional guidance and care. Click on the links to see some of their wonderful work!
Student Grant 2022-2023
Thank you for remembering to carefully complete and return your Student Grant subsidy forms no later than Friday, 14 October.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
My best,
Anita Simpson
