05.13 Family & Student Update

Dear Parents, Students, and Families,

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week. We were all disappointed to learn that we couldn’t welcome our students on campus today as a result of the extreme weather conditions and the EDB directive to suspend school today. We look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday morning!

PTA 2022-2023

Our final PTA meeting of the year is quickly approaching. We’ll host our final meeting of the year on Wednesday, 18 May at 3:15 pm. If you are fully vaccinated you are welcome to join us on campus in the Conference Room, or you can participate online via Zoom as well. All parents who wish to come to campus must be fully vaccinated and sign in using the LeaveHomeSafe App. Links to the meeting will be provided by our amazing PTA Teacher Representative, Ms. Sarah Allen very soon.

EARCOS Spring Journal

Congratulations to our wonderful High School Dean of Students and Service Learning Coordinator Ms. Meghan Robertson for her published article, Service Learning, Shifting from Global to Local (pages 42 & 43) and to Ms. Lynsey Reeves, our talented High School Visual Arts Teacher for sharing beautiful student artwork in the spring issue of the EARCOS Journal (pages 53-58). Thank you to these amazing faculty members for sharing the outstanding work they are doing with our students and broader international teaching community. They are to be commended! Thank you as well to Ms. Janine Waines for her work this year supporting EARCOS!

Gratitude

Thanks to everyone for always going above and beyond to improve the lives of others. This week, I want to celebrate our Middle School Principal, Mr. Zach Post, for carrying students over the water on Waterloo Road and helping to keep them dry when the street flooded. I also want to acknowledge the work or our wonderful custodial and maintenance team for keeping the campus safe in the midst of extreme weather conditions. It’s been a very wet week!!

I hope the week ahead brings us together all week long. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

My best,

Anita Simpson
