04.29 Family & Student Update
Dear Parents, Students, and Families,
We have now been back on campus for 8 days, and it has been such a pleasure to see everyone together again. Thanks to you, our process each morning has gone extremely smoothly, and I am very grateful to report that we have not yet had any students or staff test positive to date. It is remarkable that very few students have forgotten to bring their test and almost all who did had a picture, or were able to get a picture, from someone at home. We have also not had any false positives arise en route to school. All in all, the protocol is working well, and we appreciate the confidence this practice is providing our school community. All families are reminded to please continue to upload all proof of vaccinations to ensure that we are planning with the most current data available, by using this link.
Labour Day – 2 May
Next Monday, 2 May, is Labour Day in the city, and there is no school that day. I hope that you and your family are able to do something enjoyable together!
Teacher Appreciation Week
From Tuesday, 3 May – Friday, 6 May, AIS will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week. Thanks to our wonderful Parent Teacher Association, we have an appreciation planned each day next week to acknowledge the amazing service and contributions our faculty provide for our students and families. As parents and students, you best know what a difference your teachers make, and I know you will join me in showing our outstanding faculty your appreciation and gratitude when we return next week.
In the News!
I’m delighted to share that our Counseling Team is featured in an article in WhichSchoolAdvisor’s most recent edition, Student Wellbeing: Hong Kong’s Happiest Schools. We’re extremely proud of the work our Counseling Team does to foster well being and further our reputation as a great place to be. Their initiatives ensure that wellness and happiness are integral to AIS culture. Congratulations on being recognized for this achievement! #AISShareTheLove
Counseling Corner
Be sure to check out the most recent issue of Counseling Corner where you can learn more about the work our counselors are doing to support our students.
PTA
Thank you to our wonderful parents who have agreed to run for election and re-election to the AIS PTA Executive Committee for the 2022-2023 school year. We are all very grateful for their willingness to serve our wonderful school. There is one position that we still need to fill – PTA Treasurer, and we need your help. If you or someone you know might be interested, we would love to hear from them. The role has been greatly simplified over the last year, and it’s possible to be treasurer without a background in finance. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you are interested or have questions about this opportunity.
I wish you all a terrific long weekend ahead!
My best,
Anita Simpson
