09.11 Family & Student Update
Dear Parents, Students and Families,
No matter where I go, I see students engaged in good learning or good fun. Both are incredibly important to our wellbeing, and I’m proud to lead a school where our faculty, staff and students understand that.
Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs) & Student Vaccination Rates
I am delighted to share with students and families that we are moving forward with extra-curricular activity planning for students in Grades 7 – 12. We will soon be in a position to offer these experiences to all fully vaccinated students in those grades. A reminder that the definition of a fully vaccinated person is anyone who has received their second shot and has waited 14 days from the date of that shot.
AIS will employ a continuous intake system to remain inclusive. This will allow students to join ECAs as they become fully vaccinated. Mr. Stephen Kelly, our Athletic Director, is working closely with Middle and High School staff to lead the development of our implementation plan. Stay tuned for further details in the coming days from Mr. Post and Mr. Wing, and please be sure to complete THIS FORM to assist with planning.
It was 20 years ago today that terrorists attacked the Twin Towers in New York City, New York, USA. As an American school, we extend our sympathies to the countless families that were impacted by this terrible tragedy on this important anniversary. For far too many, the memory and impact live on.
Events such as these are important reminders to us all that life is precious, and no one can take tomorrow for granted. I hope you find moments of joy and peace this weekend.
