02.19 Family & Student Update

Dear Parents, Students and Families,

It was just wonderful to see all of our students back on campus this week! They are clearly very excited to be back, and we are equally excited to see them again. There was such good learning happening, and we appreciate the opportunity to connect with each other in person once again.

Today marked 100 days of learning this year, so the timing of having our littlest learners back on campus to celebrate together could not have been better!!

School Safety – Pick Up and Drop Off

We appreciate the care and attention parents are giving to help us keep a safe school. Of special importance is the need to practice safe pick up and drop off practices. If dropping students off by car in front of Gate 123, all families are asked to ensure that their children are ready to exit the car upon arrival. All families are also asked to avoid picking their children up in front of the school. Stopping on Waterloo Road to wait for your child creates an unsafe environment for you and for others. Please make alternate arrangements. We appreciate your cooperation.

Western Association of Schools and Colleges – WASC

I am delighted to share the wonderful news that AIS has recently received full accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, or WASC. Accreditation means that students, staff, faculty, and families can feel confident that they belong to an outstanding learning community where the quality of instruction and education being provided meets high internationally-accredited academic standards.

Achieving full accreditation status took a tremendous effort on the part of the AIS Leadership Team, Faculty, Families, Students, and Staff. We are proud of the work our school is doing and grateful for this recognition. Knowing that the quality of education being offered at American International School Hong Kong meets these high instructional standards inspires us with optimism and confidence.

My sincere thanks to everyone for their contribution to our success, and congratulations to all!!

As always, we wish you and your family all the best.

My best,

Anita Simpson
Head of School
