24 February, 2012 marked the 100th day of this academic year for our students at AIS. In celebration of this special day, our lower elementary children were engaged in a variety of fun and educational activities on the 23rd and 24th of February.
Led by their homeroom teachers, children enjoyed activities that were all orientated around ‘100’ as a theme. The EC classes made 100 macaroni necklaces and played a counting game involving “100 Bears” riding a train with Ms. Choi . Mr. Orlando’s G1 Jr. class competed with one another in the “100 Chart Partner Race” as well as tallying / decorating “100 Day Glasses”. Continuing with the ‘100’ theme, Mrs. Lilleidahl’s G1 Jr. class counted many goodies for their “100 Snacks in a Baggie”. To integrate technology and education, Ms. Maria’s G1 class used interactive white boards for the “Interactive 100 chart games” and “Kidspiration: a game software using color tiles and base ten blocks to form 100”. Finally, a reading of 100 Ants book and making 100 paper hearts activities were taken place in Ms. Yip’s G1 class.
Thank you to all the teachers for their dedication in organizing all the creative activities for our lower elementary children.
