Elementary School Winter Celebration 2011
Winter Celebrations 2011

In welcoming of the festive season, American International School hosted Christmas performance rendition by its Elementary School on 9 December 2011.

The production, titled OPERATION: SAVE CHRISTMAS, follows the tale of four AIS students investigating the mysterious disappearance of Santa Claus. This original story is laid on the foundation of the AIS Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLRS). The story begins and something had gone amiss in the North Pole, Santa Claus is nowhere to be found. With Santa missing, hopeful children around the world stood to be disappointed, Christmas was under threat. As the adventure ensued, our AIS students tackled obstacles and riddles through clues collected on the way. Each character represented a core value of the ESLRs: Effective Communicator, Problem Solver, Global Citizen and Well Rounded Individual, each applying these values as they went along their journey. This enjoyable piece brings out the importance of having determination and cooperation, and the pursuit of knowledge when faced with challenges. The production was directed by our ES Teacher Leaders and with accompaniment from our Music Teacher, Mr. Edpalina. The choreography, singing, props and costumes were a collaborative effort of teachers, students and parents. Each scene of the play was performed by a different grade level from Early Childhood through to Grade 5, singing classic Christmas songs. The evening concluded with closing words from Dr. Beckie Bouchard and refreshments kindly provided by our PTA.
