As part of AIS 25th anniversary celebrations, it was agreed to establish an independent AIS Education Foundation to support the advancement of the educational program delivered by AIS. The foundation will not only seek to support the well-rounded educational experience every student receives at AIS, but also opportunities to promote the unique qualities of an AIS education to the wider community in Hong Kong. A small group of talented individuals from our parent and alumni community have volunteered their time and expertise in setting up this foundation. On 25th and 26th of May, members of the foundation’s inaugural board had the privilege of working with Mr. Mike Miller, previously a chair of the ECIS Development Committee and a CASE Europe advisor for international schools.

Mr. Miller spent two days meeting with all our constituents. He assisted us in the development of a detailed action plan for the foundation, including ways to build a community-wide climate for philanthropy and giving. It was an invigorating and inspiring couple of days, and we are all looking forward to Mike working with our school community in the weeks and months ahead.
