Charmian Liang

Charmian Liang (Grade 12) had an outstanding year in sports. Charmian started the year by winning silver medals in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly at the ISSFHK swimming championships. Charmian was a member of the Volleyball, Basketball and Track and Field teams. Charmian is not only a great competitor but a leader, too. She was the Captain of the AIS Swim Team and the Track and Field Team.  

Charmian is an excellent team member and can always be counted on to give her best in every competition. Her excellent work ethic and competitive nature resulted in an outstanding year for her. AIS is extremely proud to have Charmian as our High School Athlete of the Year for 2008-09.

Rayner Chia

Rayner Chia (Grade 12) is an outstanding athlete with an excellent attitude. His hard work and dedication paid-off in personal and team success. Rayner was a member of the Volleyball, Basketball and Soccer teams. Rayner is a dedicated athlete who not only possesses outstanding athletic skills but is a great team player. His leadership on and off the court inspired his team mates to fulfil their potential.   

AIS is very proud to have Rayner Chia as our 2008-09 High School Athlete of the Year as he embodies all the qualities that are desired in an athlete; sportsmanship, dedication, leadership, effort and attitude.

Chester Liang

Chester Liang (Grade 8) was our 2008-09 Middle School Athlete of the Year. Chester had an outstanding year winning the silver medal in the Under 14's 50m Breaststroke and gold medal in the 100m Breaststroke finals at the ISSFHK championships. As well as being a member of the AIS Swim Team Chester represented AIS in Cross Country, Basketball, Badminton and Track and Field. As a member of the 4x400, Under 14 Relay Team he won a bronze medal at the ISSFHK championships.  

Chester exemplified hard work, determination, team spirit, dedication and a love of competing. At all sporting competitions, Chestar proved to be a perfect ambassador for AIS.

Isabella Durand

Isabella Durand (Grade 8) was our female Middle School Athlete of the Year 2008-09. She had an excellent year competing on the Volleyball, Basketball and Track and Field teams. As a member of the Under 14 Girls’ Track and Field Team Isabella won the gold medal in the Shot Putt at the ISSFHK championships.  

Isabella is an outstanding team member always encouraging others to achieve their best. She is a very competitive individual who always tries her best. AIS is very proud to have her as our Middle School Athlete of the Year for 2008-09.
