Physical Education & Health
At AIS, Physical Education is an integral part of the school education program. It contributes to the physical, cognitive, and social development of the student. To achieve this, all students receive Physical Education and Health lessons provided by specialist teachers and are offered the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular physical activities.
The mission of Physical Education at AIS is to empower all students to sustain regular, lifelong physical activity as a foundation for a healthy, productive and fulfilling life.
The focus of teaching and learning is participation in physical activities and the acquisition of new skills. Through this, we promote and develop health related fitness, positive social skills and the genuine enjoyment of an active lifestyle.
The graduation requirements are two credits to be completed in High School. Courses 1 and 2 will alternate from year to year. For example, 2007/2008 Junior 2 and Senior 2 courses will be running, while in 2008/2009 Junior 1 and Senior 1 courses will be running.
