US School Board Delegates Visited AIS
On 17 November, 2011, seven New Rochelle School District Education Board delegates from the New York State visited AIS. There are over 11,000 students currently enrolling in K-12 schools administrated by the school board with around 800 students already graduated from their high schools this year. The purpose of their trip was to further develop the district's international education and exchange platform through gaining insights from the school visits. The delegates have spent twelve days visiting various local and international schools in Beijing, Shanghai, Xian and Guangzhou. Hone Kong was their last stop and we were their only selected school in Hong Kong.

During their visit in AIS, our Head of School Mr. Cameron Fox provided them with an overall introduction about AIS and the characteristics of an American international education. Our Development & Community Relations Officer Ms.Teresa Wong explained to them our alumni involvements and the role of the new establishing educational foundation. Then they visited three elementary classrooms including Mr. Edpalina’s Music class, Mr. Ng’s Grade 3 class and Mr. Orlando’s Grade 1 Junior Class. They were also greeted by our Elementary Principal Dr. Beckie Bouchard who answered questions about our school’s elementary curriculum.

After the classroom visits, Ms. Chrisanne Petrone and Mr. Richard E. Organisciak (in the above picture), the President and the Superintendent of the New Rochelle School District Education Board commented that they were particularly impressed by the creativity of our teachers and the multilingual ability of our students. They all looked eagerly forward to their next visit to Asia in the near future.
