On 6-8 March, 2011, two members from the WASC Accreditation Commission visited American International School to conduct a Midterm Review. The visiting team consisted of Mr. Jon Salinger, Assistant Principal, Curriculum & Instruction, Napa High School, California and Ms. Sydney Conzemius, a teacher at Surabaya International School, Indonesia. Sydney was a member of the last WASC Team that visited AIS in spring 2008.

 

The team met with representatives from the AIS community including the administration team, teacher faculty groups, student council groups and representatives of the Parent Teacher Association. They had a guided tour of the school campus on 6 March. On 7 and 8 March, they visited various classrooms and met with the different groups. They were impressed by the dedication and outstanding performance of our students and staff and the wonderful support from our parents.

 

Mr. Jon Salinger, Chair of the WASC Visiting Team stated:
“All of you have a lot to be proud of... staff, parents, students!  It was clear that your efforts and motivations are all about your students and their success. With that clear focus, I'm confident that AIS will continue to grow and flourish for years to come.”
