Welcome to the first edition of our new e-newsletter, Eagle-i.
As part of our commitment to strengthening communication within and across our community, the redesign and launch of our new website is a significant step. Although still in its early stages, the new website is taking shape, giving our school an effective platform to promote, showcase and inform students, teachers, families and the wider community.

On Friday, 20 November 2009, students, teachers, friends and families once again joined together to celebrate the vibrant international diversity of our school community at the annual AIS-PTA Cultural Fair. Stretching back more than 20 years, this is one of our biggest and most important calendar events.  

Between October 16th – 25th 2009, AIS High School students and faculty have been away taking part in different Outdoor Education and Leadership programs.  HS Parents can click the following link to sign up for the  “Adventure Week 2009 Presentation Evening” at school in the Hall from 6-8pm on Thursday 3rd December.

This information night  themed under  "Hearing Children Read.." is designed for Grade 1Jr to Grade 2 families and will be held on December 2 evening from 7-8pm at the school hall.  The evening will provide adults who listen to children read at home with strategies to assist the improvement in reading consistent with those being used by trained teachers in the classroom. The focus group of adults is  Teacher-Librarian and ES Literacy Coach, Anne Loney, will lead the session along with classroom teachers.

We are very excited to announce for the first time in AIS history, the launch of an official AIS Alumni Association through the Development Office. The office is organizing the first annual Alumni Cup, a volleyball competition involving teams of alumni, current students and faculty members. It will be held at the school on Friday 18 December 2009. The volleyball competition will be followed by a BBQ reception to launch the AIS Alumni Association.
