For the Development Office, the celebration of our school’s 25th anniversary has been our major focus for the past 12 months. In particular we have taken significant steps in reaching out to our former students, families and teachers inviting them to reconnect with the school to celebrate this significant milestone in our history.
The Development Office organized a series of important events this year including a special fundraising reunion to support relief efforts for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and a highly successful golf day at Mission Hills in China. But of course the highlight of the year was the AIS Silver Jubilee Gala Dinner held at the Hong Kong Jockey Club on 30 December. It was a wonderful occasion and a fitting tribute to the families, teachers, students and friends who have contributed to the growth and success of the school over the past 25 years.
In terms of alumni relations, we have now successfully reconnected with more than 900 alumni from over 30 countries and 100 cities. Through our website’s Alumni Portal and Facebook, alumni are now able to learn about the latest school events and reconnect easily with each other.
As part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, the aim of establishing an independent education foundation is to support educational advancement across the wider Hong Kong community. A small group of talented individuals from our parent and alumni community have volunteered their time and expertise in setting up this foundation taking on the duties and responsibilities of inaugural trustees.
It has been an incredibly busy but highly fulfilling year for our school and the Development Office. I would like to thank all the parents, alumni, faculty and students for their support and willingness to assist the Development Office with its various projects. These are exciting times and I look forward to making next year another successful one for our school.
