High School Community Service

Dedicated community service is a graduation requirement for every high school student. The successful completion of these community service hours ensures that during their time as members of our high school, every student will have participated in some form of service activity. However, as a school committed to shaping the hearts and minds of our young men and women, we are seeking much more than that.We believe serving the community, whether it is within our school, the Hong Kong community or globally, is a way students learn to give back.

Through community service opportunities our students will be able to make a positive difference in the lives of others. We also recognize the added value dedicated community service hours can bring to a student’s college application. This is considerable in situations where colleges and universities are seeking students with a strong academic background combined with evidence of a well-rounded education.

Community service hours must be completed with a registered charity or non-for-profit organization, and official letters must be submitted to prove the student’s voluntary work. We have a community service club that generates ideas for projects and activities for students to get involved in within our Hong Kong community. These are often advertised and promoted during school assemblies. Students will also complete a number of community service hours during their ‘Adventure Week’ programs.
