	Enriched by a school-wide commitment to a vibrant Visual and Performing Arts program, our colorful classrooms reflect the importance of art, music and song in our daily lives. Every student is encouraged to express their creativity using a variety of materials and media. Our music program provides every student with the opportunity to sing, dance and play music with students hosting scheduled monthly assemblies to showcase their talents.

	At AIS we continuously strive to move instruction beyond traditional texts. We embrace cross-curricular projects, student collaboration and the integration of Information Technology (IT) into all areas of the curriculum. The extensive use of IT encourages students to become independent learners and critical thinkers. Computers, supported by a wide range of educationally appropriate applications, are used extensively across the school. All grades have interactive whiteboards to enhance teaching and learning.

	Physical Education (PE) provides students with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of physical activities. Through these activities students develop physical skills and a deeper knowledge and understanding of sports. The development of personal and social skills is an integral part of Physical Education program at AIS, fostering the values of teamwork, participation and good sportsmanship.

	Mandarin is a compulsory modern language requirement for all AIS students from Early Childhood through Grade 8. Our elementary students receive 3 Mandarin lessons per week from a specialist Mandarin teacher.
