Welcome to Grade 3

The Grade Three program promotes and fosters independent thinking and responsibility. The Language Arts program includes reading instruction utilizing appropriate reading material for the reader. Third Grade Mathematics includes number computation, measurement, shapes, and data handling. Students are encouraged to use higher order thinking skills by engaging in hands-on problem-solving activities.

The Grade Three topics help students learn about themselves and how they interact with each other in society. Also, they develop their observation and critical thinking skills when they make sense of the physical world around them. Some of the themes explored are city government, light, culture, communities, animal adaptation, and space. Field trips further enhance the curriculum by giving them real life opportunities to explore what they have learned in the classroom.
