Early Childhood education promotes learning through play and discovery. The children develop essential skills through a variety of activities including reading, painting, drawing, cooking, construction and play. Our Early Childhood teacher is highly trained and very experienced in working with families and children at this important stage in a child’s development. Supported by a full-time Teaching Assistant and a full-time classroom custodian, our Early Childhood program ensures a low student-teacher ratio. Children are closely monitored and individual needs are catered for each day. As the children progress through EC2, the program introduces a formal approach to teaching handwriting, phonics and number. This ensures our children have the necessary skills for Grade 1 Junior. Singing a range of songs and simple rhymes, participating in "quiet times" and joining in formal snack times are important parts of the program. Such activities help our children to develop good routines and structures. It builds confidence and prepares the students for the requirements of a regular school day. The program is enriched by weekly Library, Music, PE and Mandarin lessons.
