The pursuit of a truly holistic and balanced educational experience for every student at AIS is evident in our vibrant visual and performing arts programs. In supporting students to become effective communicators through visual and performing arts, we are committed to providing a wide range of opportunities for every student to develop an appreciation of the arts, encouraging them to seek expression, build skills and discover talents.
Visual and Performing Arts at AIS carefully blends elements of visual art, music and drama into a richly rewarding program for students at all grade levels. Across the school the importance our students attach to the arts is evident. Classrooms and bulletin boards are always decorated with bright and colorful displays of student work. Every day music and song filter through the air. Tricky guitar chords get mastered during recess, while others practice dance steps for an upcoming assembly.
Our annual Evening of the Arts and AP Art Exhibition, the AIS Spring Arts Festival and our magnificent school productions, which celebrate and showcase our talented students and staff at each school level, are events we eagerly anticipate.
Throughout the year AIS students embrace the opportunity to participate in various performances, events and competitions organized within the wider community. This has included performances at Disneyland, the Hong Kong International Arts Festival and the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens.
